An Essential Library in School PsychologyCleveland Public Schools, Ohio, USA
Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA A review of English-language texts outlining the purpose, structure and progression of the field of school psychology evidences significant developments. Foci have shifted from the 1960s topics of role and function, professional relationships with school staff and parents, and therapy to an emphasis in the next two decades on psychoeducational and intellectual assessment centered on disabling conditions and assessment strategies. More recently, texts emphasize on the concerns of legal issues, and a view towards the future of the profession. This work includes a comprehensive reference to the primary texts in the field of school psychology.
