Theory and Practice in Dealing with Communication DifficultyMoray House College of Education, Edinburgh, UK The implications of some research findings covering communication in young children are discussed. It is suggested that attempts to help children with delayed or impaired early communication could benefit by taking more account of such studies. Suggestions are made about conditions which appear to facilitate spontaneous confident conversation.
